AGM – Thurs 20th August

We hope you’re all well and not missing Badminton too much. These are strange times and the lockdown meant that we missed our usual AGM slot in May. However, the committee has decided that we should now go ahead with this and therefore the Harborough Feathers AGM will take place on Thursday 20th August 2020 at 7.30pm online via voice/video conference (details will be provided nearer the time). 

The AGM is a great opportunity to have your say on how the club is run (including subscription fees, team entries, match nights etc). There should be much to discuss as we seek to understand when, where and how we get back to playing again as a club. We would therefore absolutely welcome your attendance and input at the AGM, even if you do not wish to take on a more active role with the club.

That being said, we are always looking for people to get involved and offer to help on the committee. All committee positions will be up for election at the AGM, including:

  • Chair
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Men’s 1 Captain
  • Ladies Captain
  • Doubles Captain
  • Welfare Officer(s)
  • Social Secretary
  • Fixtures Secretary

In particular, the positions of Chair and Social Secretary need to be filled as Andrew and Frank respectively have indicated they no longer wish to continue, after many years of excellent service on the committee. Most of the committee roles are not too time consuming and you are welcome to ask myself or one of the existing committee members what the roles involve. Note also that we cannot enter teams into the league(s) without team captains.

If you are interested in any of the roles on the committee or would like to add something to the agenda for discussion at the AGM, then please let me know by Friday 14th August. Likewise, if you are unable to attend and would like something raised, then please let me know.

We hope to see as many of you as possible at the AGM and hopefully sometime soon on the badminton court.
