New Members

Are you new to the area, returning to badminton after a break or simply looking for a new club?

At Harborough Feathers you can be assured of a warm welcome, friendly members and a good standard of play. There are also opportunities to join teams of varying standards and meet other members for a sociable drink afterwards.

If this is what you are looking for, then read on below and either come along to a club session and speak to us or contact us by phone or email.

How it Works

Trying Out the Club

You are welcome to come along to any of our club sessions to try out the club. The first session is free and you can attend a further 3 sessions and just pay the visitor fee (see here for current fees).

Joining the Club

Once you have attended 4 sessions we would require you to join the club and pay the appropriate membership fee (see here for current fees). If you are joining part way through the season we will discuss the fee required with you. In addition, any visitors fees already paid will be deducted from the membership fee.

When you join, we will ask you for your contact details and date of birth in order to register you with Badminton England.

Minimum Standard

The standard of badminton at our club is reasonably good, but if you have played a fair amount before, then you should fit in ok. Our club committee will assess whether you meet the required minimum standard before you join the club.

If you are new to badminton or would categorise yourself as a beginner, then the club may not be suitable, but please get in touch as we may be able to advise of other clubs or coaching sessions that are available in the local area.

Minimum Age

We are an adult badminton club, so members should generally be over 18 years old. Members between 16-18 years old may be considered based on playing ability and if accompanied by an adult.

For players aged under 18, Harborough LC Juniors Badminton Club offer coached badminton sessions. There are opportunities to progress to Harborough Feathers in the future as our players regularly attend these sessions as coaches.

Teams

If you are looking for competitive team badminton we have Ladies, Men’s and Mixed teams. We suggest you come along early in the season for team selection, though there are always opportunities to play for teams throughout the year.

Social

There are social events organised throughout the year. We also have social drinks after most club sessions and you would be very welcome to join us.
