Badminton Sessions Cancelled Until Further Notice

Sorry to have to do this, but the current advice from the UK government as of today is to avoid all but essential contact with others and this would definitely include our weekly badminton sessions and any matches scheduled with other clubs.

So until further notice, there will be no Harborough Feathers badminton sessions on Fridays.

Stay safe and healthy and we hope to see you all back playing badminton when the situation improves.

Membership fees reminder and fixtures

The deadline for discounted membership fees is fast approaching. If you have not yet paid your fees, you can still pay the £120 rate before the end of September. After that, the full rate of £130 will be due.

If you are expected to play matches in one of our teams, your fees must be paid ASAP in order that we can register individuals with Badminton England and the relevant leagues in advance of the first fixtures. As stated previously, no one will be registered or able to play in matches until their fees are paid.

The easiest way to pay is by bank transfer. The bank account details have been emailed to all current club members, but please speak to Jim or John if you need confirmation.

You can also pay by cheque/cash to Jim, John or any other committee member at club night if you prefer.

All the fixtures are now available here.

New Season Starts 30th August 2019

We hope you had a good summer and are ready for the new season, which starts on Friday 30th August. Please see the detailed information below for season dates, subscription fees and club contacts.

Refurbishment of the sports hall at Welland Park Academy has been carried out over the summer, including new floor, improved lighting and new posts, which will hopefully be a huge improvement.

We look forward to seeing you on 30th August in the refurbished hall!

Club Nights

A full listing of club nights is available here.

Note that on a few occasions during the season, club night may be switched to Meadowdale Primary School due to matches taking place at Welland Park. Members will be notified prior to these dates by email and on the club website.

This seasons club fees are here. There has been a slight increase of £10 in the adult club fees for this season. This is largely due to increased cost of shuttles and court hire.

Can you please ensure that your subscriptions are paid by the end of September, any subs received after that will not receive the £10 discount. If you’re intending to play in matches, prompt payment is appreciated so you can be registered. No one will be registered or able to play in matches until their fees are paid.

You can pay your fees by giving cheque/cash to Jim at club night or you can now pay by bank transfer. Please speak to Jim or John for account details.

We intend to have Ladies, Doubles, Men’s teams registered in their respective leagues.

Once we have the fixtures, they will be available on the club website here.

A list of contacts for club committee members is available here, should you need to contact us during the season. You can also contact us using the club email address

Harborough Feathers AGM – Mon 13th May

The Harborough Feathers AGM will take place on Monday 13th May at 7.30pm at The Angel Hotel, Market Harborough.

The AGM is a great opportunity to have your say on how the club is run (including including subscription fees, team entries, match nights etc). We would absolutely welcome your attendance and input at the AGM, even if you do not wish to take on a more active role with the club.

That being said, we are always looking for people to get involved and offer to help on the commitee. All committee positions will be up for election at the AGM, including:

Men’s 1 Captain
Men’s 2 Captain (if there is to be a Men’s 2 team)
Ladies Captain
Doubles Captain
Welfare Officer(s)
Social Secretary

Most of these roles are not too time consuming and you are welcome to ask one of the existing committee members what the roles involve. In particular, we cannot enter teams into the league(s) without team captains.

If you are interested in any of the roles on the committee or would like to add something to the agenda for discussion at the AGM, then please let me know by Friday 3rd May.

We hope to see as many of you as possible at the AGM and on the remaining club nights. The last club night of the season is Friday 24th May.

Men’s 2 Team Withdrawn

Unfortunately, the Men’s 2 team has now been withdrawn from the Northamptonshire league for the 2018-19 season. This decision was due to the lack of a member coming forward to take on the role of team captain.

The Men’s 2 fixtures have therefore been removed from the website and club calendar.
