Men’s 2 Team Withdrawn

Unfortunately, the Men’s 2 team has now been withdrawn from the Northamptonshire league for the 2018-19 season. This decision was due to the lack of a member coming forward to take on the role of team captain.

The Men’s 2 fixtures have therefore been removed from the website and club calendar.

Club Nights

A full listing of club nights is available here.

Note that on a few occasions during the season, club night may be switched to Meadowdale Primary School due to matches taking place at Welland Park. Members will be notified prior to these dates by email and on the club website.


This seasons club fees are here. There has been a slight increase of £10 in the adult club fees for this season. This is largely due to increased cost of shuttles and court hire.

Can you please ensure that your subscriptions are paid by the end of September, any subs received after that will not receive the £10 discount. If you’re intending to play in matches, prompt payment is appreciated so you can be registered. Please give all cheques/cash to Jim. No one will be registered until their fees are paid.


We intend to have Ladies, Doubles, Men’s 1 and Men’s teams registered in their respective leagues. However, there is currently a vacancy for Men’s 2 captain and unless someone comes forward to take on that role, the committee may decide to withdraw the Men’s 2 team. If you are interested in stepping forward as Men’s 2 captain, please speak to John or one of the other committee members.

Harborough Feathers AGM – 14th May 2018

The Harborough Feathers AGM will take place on Monday 14th May at 7:30pm at The Angel Hotel, Market Harborough.

This is every members chance to shape next season for the club, including subscriptions, team entries, match nights etc. In addition the club needs to fulfil a number of committee positions so that the club can run smoothly and also reduce the burden on each committee member.

The positions available are as follows:

Mens 1 Captain
Mens 2 Captain
Ladies Captain
Doubles Captain
Welfare Officer
Social Secretary

We would encourage everyone to consider if they are willing to take on a position on the committee. There are a number of people stepping down from the committee this year, so there will be positions that need filling. Without a full and active committee the club cannot run.

In particular we will need new team captains for the both mens teams as both of the present incumbents are standing down and will not be taking on that role next season. If these teams are to run, as with all the teams, they need captains. So unless people come forward, we’ll have to consider the future of these teams. In addition to the captains, the club also need a new secretary and also a new chair.

If you are interested in any of the roles on the committee, then please let Helen Barnett know by Friday 4th May. If you want to know more about a role, then please speak to Helen or any of the other committee members. Also let Helen know if you have agenda items that you wish discussing.

We understand that some people do not want to involve themselves due to other commitments, but it would still be good to see you at the AGM and involved in future club decisions.

We hope to see as many of you as possible at the AGM and on the remaining club nights, with the last club night being Friday 25th May.
